Framework Maps started with a real problem — not knowing which tools served which control — and grew into a structured program under CyberRISE to solve it for everyone in the field.
Framework Maps started with a practitioner’s frustration: not knowing which tools served which control. Frameworks said what to do. Tools said what they did. Nothing connected the two — at least not in a way a practitioner could trust.
Working with the community around CIS, the first visual mapping of CIS Controls v8.1 was built. All 153 safeguards. Decomposed, visualized, and mapped to vendor capability. The response from practitioners told us this needed to be more than a one-off.
The program now operates under CyberRISE with a dedicated program board and a roadmap to expand to additional frameworks — including NIS2 — and to surface the commonalities and differences between them.
